Co-founded by designers and siblings, Alexander and Lydia Stewart, Futurescapes Studio became a space for shared exploration between pedagogy and practice for disentangling complex systems.
Between their professional work experience, their academic principles, and the challenges they saw in the classroom in how we teach complexity they felt inspired to weave all the threads together. The professionalism and pragmatism of practice, the rigour and ethics of academia, and the relational best practices they exemplified in the classroom.
This work attempts to balance the scales, without falling into the conventional pitfalls of corporate greed or academic elitism. This is grounded, relational, life centred design research and it is meant to be shared and experienced.
This work is ongoing but sits in tandem to other praxis and identities
