UKRI Community Co-Created Markets

Ongoing work in partnership with Glasgow University

In her role as Co-Lead Lydia is using futurescapes’ participatory narrative mapping methodas to understand community needs, food experiences, and any potential barriers to food access in various neighbourhoods of Glasgow. Together with residents local food stories are made tangible and co-analysed to understand what is really important to residents, what stands in the way of accessing good food, what good food means to them, and how the community would like to shape the future development of their local food system.

A ______ at the Table

Studio Exhibition at Dutch Design Week 2024

To test and see our narrative mapping methodology in a live context we hosted a participatory research studio for Dutch Design Week at Sectie C in Eindhoven. We spent time in advance doing local design ethnography and connecting with different actors in the food system. We then presented our relational narrative mapping method in a 10 day open studio and had over 300 people come through the doors and story-make with us. We were able to test the materials, tools, and prompts we had designed and gained incredible feedback on the methods.

We engaged with people of all walks of life, all ages, backgrounds, and abilities.
